Why we built a real estate video maker

A video sells a home faster, and almost nobody makes one. A professional shoot runs $200 to $600 and takes days, so it goes on the flagship listing and no others. PropReel exists so every listing gets one: upload the photos you already have, get back up to three platform ready cinematic videos from a single render, in the shape you pick.

PropReel is built and operated by Semicolon Technologies, a software company building focused, honest tools — no growth hacks, no fake reviews, no dark patterns.

Why this exists

Listing video is one of the few marketing decisions where everyone agrees on the answer and almost nobody acts on it. Agents know a video helps. They also know that hiring a videographer means $200 to $600 and a 2–5 day turnaround — and a listing’s attention peaks in the first week. So the video arrives after the moment it was for, or it never gets made.

The workaround most agents settle on is a slideshow in a phone app. It is free and it takes twenty minutes, and it looks like what it is. There was no option in between: nothing that produced something worth posting without either a budget or an afternoon.

PropReel is that middle. You give it the photos the listing already has. It works out what each room is, writes a script you can edit, narrates it in any of fifteen languages, moves the camera through each still with real depth-aware motion, cuts to the music, and on a paid plan exports every platform-ready version of the shape you pick, including a branding-free cut for the MLS when it is horizontal. The render runs in the background, takes longer the more photos you give it, and we email you when it is ready.

We publish how long real renders take because nobody else in this category does, and because a claim you can check is worth more than a claim you have to take on faith. The full dataset is here, with the method, the percentiles and the render time broken down by photo count.

What PropReel deliberately does not do

Every product page on the internet lists what a tool can do. This is the other list. If one of these is a dealbreaker, better you know now than after your first render.

Who builds it

PropReel is a product of Semicolon Technologies. The render pipeline — room detection, script generation, narration, depth-aware motion, beat-synced music and the exports — runs on infrastructure we operate. The one piece we buy in is an outside video model that generates up to 3 AI camera shots in each render.

One consequence of that is unusual and worth stating: the camera moves on every other shot are built on our own machines. That constraint shaped the whole product, and it is a large part of why a free first video is possible at all.

Who makes PropReel?

PropReel is built and operated by Semicolon Technologies, a software company that builds focused, honest tools. The pipeline runs on its own infrastructure; the one outside video model it calls generates the few AI camera shots in each render.

How long does one video actually take?

It depends mostly on how many photos you send, up to 20 in a video: roughly two and a half minutes plus about thirty seconds a photo, plus a few minutes for the AI-generated camera shots, and up to about twice that when the queue is busy. You do not have to wait on the page — we email you when it is ready.

Is the free video a trial?

It is your first video, free: one video per account, no card required, and the full engine — exported in one format, YouTube (horizontal) or Instagram Reel (vertical), with a small PropReel logo in the corner. Paid plans start at $19 a month and remove the watermark.

What does PropReel deliberately not do?

It does not shoot footage, does not export 4K yet (it is coming next year), cannot import from portals that block automation such as Zillow, and does not validate your MLS board's rules for you. Each of those is a real limit, stated rather than hidden.
