Frequently asked questions

Everything about turning listings into cinematic video with PropReel.

What is PropReel?

PropReel is an AI video generator for real estate agents. It turns listing photos or walkthrough footage into professional, platform-ready cinematic property videos automatically — writing the script, generating an AI voiceover, applying cinematic camera motion, syncing music, and adding agent branding. You spend a few minutes on it; the render itself runs in the background, takes longer the more photos you use, and we email you when it is ready, so you can close the tab.

How does PropReel turn photos into a video?

PropReel uses depth-aware AI to estimate how far each part of a photo sat from the camera, then moves near and far pixels at different rates to create true parallax — a film-grade camera push-in from a single still. It then adds an AI voiceover, beat-synced music, and branded titles automatically.

How long does it take to make a real estate video?

A few minutes of your time, then an unattended render whose length depends on how many photos you send (up to 20 per video, 10 on the Free plan): roughly two and a half minutes plus about thirty seconds a photo, plus a few minutes for the AI-generated camera shots, and up to about twice that when the queue is busy. You can close the tab and we email you when it lands. A professional shoot and edit typically takes days.

Is there a free plan, and is the first video really free?

Yes. PropReel's Free plan includes one video per account at no cost and requires no credit card, so your first cinematic listing video is genuinely free. It is the full engine in all 15 languages, exported in one format, YouTube (horizontal) or Instagram Reel (vertical), with a PropReel watermark. Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Agency) remove the watermark and add more videos, every format of the shape you pick, agent branding and monthly AI credits.

How much does PropReel cost?

PropReel has four plans: Free ($0), Starter ($19/month), Pro ($49/month), and Agency ($129/month). Free includes one video per account, watermarked, with the full engine switched on. Starter adds 10 videos, removes the watermark, and includes 72 AI credits, branding, AI staging and generated hero camera motion. Pro adds 25 videos, 192 credits, lead capture and voice cloning. Agency adds 60 videos, 528 credits, five seats, white-label exports and API access.

What video formats does PropReel export?

PropReel exports 6 platform-ready formats in two shapes, and each video is rendered in the one shape you pick. Vertical 9:16 gives Instagram Reel, TikTok and WhatsApp Story; horizontal 16:9 gives YouTube, MLS (clean) and Email GIF (the MLS cut carries no agent branding). A paid plan gets every format of the chosen shape from one render, and the other shape is one more video from your allowance. The free plan exports one format: YouTube (horizontal) or Instagram Reel (vertical).

What languages does the voiceover support?

PropReel generates natural AI voiceover narration in 15 languages on every plan, the free one included, so you can market a listing in your buyers' first language. In markets where many buyers speak Spanish or another language, native-language narration measurably increases engagement and showing requests compared with English-only video.

Do I need video footage, or do photos work?

Photos alone work — PropReel's depth-aware motion engine turns flat listing stills into cinematic moving shots. You can also upload raw walkthrough footage, or mix both: lead with a striking exterior photo, cut to a short walkthrough of the main rooms, and close on a hero shot.

Can I add my own branding and logo?

Yes, on paid plans. PropReel overlays your agent or brokerage logo, brand color, and lower-third titles automatically. The Agency plan adds full white-label output. The Free plan's video carries a small PropReel logo in the corner; any paid plan removes it.

Can I use PropReel videos for MLS listings?

Yes, on any paid plan. PropReel exports a branding-free MLS version with no agent branding, contact details, or calls to action, alongside the branded horizontal YouTube cut — so one horizontal render gives you a clean cut and a marketing video together; the vertical reels are a second render in the other shape. MLS rules vary by board, so check your local requirements.

Can I add my PropReel video to a Zillow listing?

Yes, but for a home listed for sale it goes through your MLS, not Zillow: Zillow builds those listings from the MLS feed and has no video upload field on them. Host the branding-free MLS cut (YouTube unlisted or Vimeo), paste the link into your MLS's unbranded video field, and it syndicates to Zillow. Zillow Rentals is the exception: you upload the MP4 directly in Rental Manager.

Can I make a real estate video without filming anything?

Yes — that's PropReel's core feature. Upload your existing listing photos and the depth-aware motion engine turns each flat still into a cinematic moving shot, then adds an AI voiceover, music and titles. No camera, gimbal, drone or crew needed; a dozen good photos are enough for a full reel.

Should a real estate reel be 9:16 or 16:9?

Use 9:16 vertical for Instagram Reels, TikTok and Stories, where most buyers watch on a phone, and 16:9 horizontal for YouTube and your website. Each PropReel video is rendered in one shape you pick, correctly framed for it; on a paid plan the other shape of the same video is one more render, so every platform still gets the right shape.

Is the music in PropReel videos copyright-safe to post?

Yes. PropReel's built-in music is a licensed, royalty-free library (Kevin MacLeod / Incompetech, CC-BY 4.0, credited automatically). It's cleared for the marketing use agents need, so you can post to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and the MLS without the copyright strikes or muted audio you'd risk from a commercial chart song.

How many photos do I need for a good listing video?

Around 8 to 15 well-lit photos make a strong reel: a hero exterior, the main living space, kitchen, primary bedroom, a bathroom, and any standout feature or view. Fewer than six can feel thin, and PropReel uses up to 20 in one video. Variety and quality matter more than sheer count.

Video or virtual tour — which sells a home faster?

They do different jobs. A 3D virtual tour lets a serious buyer self-navigate every room, but it lives on the listing page and rarely gets shared. A short cinematic video travels — it hooks attention in feeds and DMs and drives clicks back to the listing. Most agents use video to attract and a tour to convert.

Can PropReel pull a listing straight from a Zillow or Realtor.com link?

No. Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin and Domain block automated access, so PropReel cannot pull photos from their links — for those listings you download the photos and upload them. Pasting a listing URL can work for other sites, such as your own agency's listing page. Uploading directly always works and gives you full control over which shots make the cut.

Do PropReel videos include captions or subtitles?

Yes. PropReel burns word-by-word captions of the narration straight into the video — timed to the voiceover with a karaoke-style highlight, styled for silent autoplay, and on by default (you can toggle them off in the wizard). It also renders on-screen text like the address, price and branded lower-thirds.

Does Zillow allow agent-uploaded video, and are there limits?

Yes, by route. For-sale video arrives through your MLS feed, so your MLS's media rules apply, and nearly every MLS requires the syndicated video to be unbranded. Rentals are uploaded directly in Zillow Rental Manager, where Zillow's own file and length limits apply and change over time. PropReel's MLS-clean cut has no logo, name, number or call to action, so it suits the MLS route.

What should I actually say in a real estate listing video?

Open with a one-line hook (address, beds and baths, price), walk through the standout rooms in a natural order, add a lifestyle line about the neighborhood, and close with a clear call to action to book a showing. PropReel auto-writes an editable script in exactly this structure so you're never staring at a blank page.
