Two real estate photo to video tools, priced in opposite directions

BetterSpace vs PropReel

BetterSpace and PropReel both turn listing photos into video without an editor. BetterSpace charges per video and bundles virtual staging and portal integrations. PropReel charges a flat monthly rate, narrates in fifteen languages and exports all three formats of the shape you pick from one render, including a branding free MLS cut on a horizontal tour.

BetterSpace figures verified 1 September 2026 from their own published pages, and dated on this page so you can check whether they have moved.

A real PropReel render, not a mock up. On a paid plan, the same render also delivers every other format of its shape.

A tick means that product is genuinely ahead on that row. We have marked BetterSpace ahead wherever they are, because a comparison written by one of the two products is only worth reading if it does that.

What a month costs

PropReel Pro$49

Staging added at their published $1.32 a photo

What 10 listing videos in one month cost on each product's published rates. BetterSpace does not publish its volume discount tiers, so the real figure at that volume will be lower than shown. Below roughly five videos a month their per video model is the cheaper one, and this chart is the wrong way round.

The pricing models point in opposite directions, and that decides most of it

BetterSpace sells video by the unit. Their published rates start at $3.97 for a video and $1.32 for a staged photo, with volume discounts they do not publish. PropReel sells a monthly allowance: 10 videos on Starter, 25 on Pro, 60 on Agency.

That single difference decides which tool is cheaper for you, and it is not close in either direction. An agent who lists two properties a month and wants one video each will pay under ten dollars at BetterSpace and would be buying an allowance they cannot use at PropReel. An agent running fifteen listings, cutting three versions of each, crosses over long before the end of the month.

There is a behavioural half to this that is worth naming. Per video pricing makes you think before every render, which is fine when you know exactly what you want and expensive when you are learning. A flat allowance makes experimenting free, which is how most agents find the format that works for their market. Neither is a trick. They suit different stages.

  • Under about 5 videos a month: per video pricing usually wins.
  • Above about 10: a flat plan usually wins, and the gap widens fast.
  • If you re cut the same listing for several platforms, count each cut. That is where per video pricing gets expensive quietly.

Where BetterSpace is genuinely ahead

Two things on their side are real and we will not talk around them.

The first is virtual staging as a first class, per photo product. BetterSpace furnishes empty rooms and enhances exteriors at a published per photo price, and for an agent whose problem is empty listings rather than video volume, that is a cleaner fit than buying a video plan to get staging credits.

The second is portal integration. BetterSpace lists Zillow, Realtor.com and Rightmove connections. PropReel imports photos from a listing URL only where the site permits automated access, and Zillow and Realtor.com specifically do not, so on those two portals our answer is to download the photos and upload them. That is a genuine gap and it costs a few minutes on every listing.

Where PropReel is different, and why it matters

Narration in fifteen languages is the clearest difference, and it is not a translation feature. The script is written for the target language, then spoken by a voice in that language, then the burned captions and the word alignment are generated from the same text so nothing drifts. In a market with a large Spanish speaking or Mandarin speaking buyer base, that is the difference between a video someone watches and one they skip.

Every format of the shape you pick, from one render on any paid plan, is the second. A vertical tour comes out as an Instagram Reel, a TikTok and a WhatsApp story; a horizontal one as a YouTube upload, an email loop and a branding free MLS version. You pick the shape in the wizard, and the other shape of the same tour is one more video from your allowance, made from the finished render rather than started again.

The third is that we publish how long it actually takes. Every render we have finished, timed by the pipeline itself, broken down by how many photos went in, with the method stated. No competitor in this category publishes that, which is why every other tool in this comparison can only tell you "minutes" and leave you to find out what that means.

The input

What both tools are working from

Whichever product you pick, the raw material is the same: the photos the listing already has. What changes is what comes out the other side.

The output

Frames pulled straight out of PropReel renders

The verdict

Which one is right for you

Choose PropReel if

Choose PropReel if you make video at volume, if your buyers do not all speak English, if you need the same tour in every platform sized cut of its shape including a branding free MLS version, or if you want a flat monthly price and measured render times you can check before you trust a vendor.

Try it free on a real listing

Choose BetterSpace if

Choose BetterSpace if you make only a few videos a month, if virtual staging is the job rather than a nice extra, or if pulling photos straight from a Zillow or Realtor.com listing would save you real time on every property.

  • Virtual staging as a product, not a credit

Priced per photo and bundled with the video workflow, which suits agents whose real problem is empty rooms.

  • Zillow, Realtor.com and Rightmove integrations

A real workflow saving that PropReel cannot match, because those portals block automated access to us.

  • Per video pricing at low volume

If you make one or two videos a month, paying per unit is genuinely cheaper than any monthly plan including ours.

  • A free plan with staging included

Two videos and ten staged photos a month with no card is a generous way to try staging specifically.

Questions

BetterSpace and PropReel, answered

What is the best BetterSpace alternative for real estate agents?

It depends on volume and language. PropReel is the closer alternative for agents making video regularly, because it charges a flat monthly rate, narrates in fifteen languages and, on paid plans, exports every platform format of the shape you pick from one render. BetterSpace remains a better fit at low volume or when virtual staging is the main requirement.

Is BetterSpace or PropReel cheaper?

Below roughly five videos a month, BetterSpace is cheaper, because you pay per video from $3.97 rather than a monthly plan. Above about ten videos a month PropReel is cheaper: Starter is $19 a month for 10 videos and Pro is $49 for 25, and those totals do not move whether you use the allowance or not.

Does PropReel do virtual staging like BetterSpace?

Yes, on paid plans, metered as AI credits alongside twilight conversion, lawn repair and decluttering. BetterSpace prices staging per photo as a first class product, which is the cleaner model if staging rather than video is your actual problem.

Can PropReel import photos from Zillow?

No. Zillow and Realtor.com block automated access, so PropReel's URL import works only on sites that permit it. BetterSpace publishes integrations with those portals, and that is a genuine advantage. For Zillow listings with PropReel you download the photos and upload them, which costs a couple of minutes.

Which one has better voiceover?

PropReel narrates in fifteen languages with the script written per language rather than translated, and the burned captions are generated from the same text so they cannot drift. BetterSpace includes voiceover with synced captions but does not publish a language count, so a direct comparison beyond that is not possible from public information.

How this page was sourced

Every BetterSpace figure on this page comes from their own published pages, read on 1 September 2026. PropReel prices are read at build time from the same constant our checkout charges from, so they cannot drift. Pricing moves and features ship: if anything here is out of date or unfair to BetterSpace, tell us and we will correct it, including removing a point that favours us.

Test it on a listing you already have.

1 free video per account on the free plan, no card, and it runs the whole engine — generated camera motion, staged rooms — in one format, YouTube (horizontal) or Instagram Reel (vertical), with our watermark on it. That is the only comparison that settles anything. Every other format of that shape comes with a paid plan.
